This is the second book by Charles Root in his Terran Coalition Universe.Equal parts suspense, action, humor, and introspection into spirituality without being preachy. Very refreshing in today's world where people want to avoid discussion of God/Higher Powers at all costs.
I like the resolution of the story in that while I was reading it, I was not happy that the resolution might have been the predictable one. Instead, Charles Root shows that by thinking a bit, a writer and his characters can resolve a bad situation in an unpredictable way.
I wish the book had gone on a bit longer, as I was left with a few questions and a few things dropped in the plot that I wanted to see addressed more fully. Perhaps in the third book which is currently being written.

It kept me hooked. I finished it as fast as I could. Really a great part 2 and I'm really loiking forward to part 3!
This book has humor, great characters and action. There was enough weird science to keep me guessing. Hen is the next book due out.
I found this story very intriguing and interesting. I must admit I found the science involved way beyond me but it did not take away from my enjoyment of the story. I look forward to the next book.
I have read both books by this author,and love the story line.The way the book flows from one sub plot to the next, is very good.I look forward to the next book in the series, and would recommend both books to all science fiction fans.
CR has written a SyFy novel, which reminds me of Arthur C Clarke, about the future in space travel. Quantum Physics at its best. The author has researched and developed the material in his novel in a similar way as have a few before him. Travel from one dimonision to another. This is an excellent read for the genre..... ER
This is the 2nd book by this author that I have read,and can't wait for the next book to come out.His insight into what science fiction fans want is fantastic.The writing keeps you moving at a fast pace though the book,and yet it allows you the time you need to involve yourself into the story.I truly can imagine what the ships the are like,and feel the emotions of characters in the book.I will definitely be waiting for his next book,and highly recommend that if your looking for some new and exciting scifi,that you read both of his books.
