At first glance, author Amy Townsend's new book "The Goddess Guide to Dates, Fate & Soulmates" appears as if it may be a dating or self-help guide for young women. While there are a few, hidden, valuable lessons in this highly entertaining story, it's really not a dating manual as much as just a great young adult read. The story of 18 year old Zoe, who realizes sexual liberation as a college Freshman and this opens the doors to some fascinating paranormal elements. The struggle between what she believes she really wants and who ends up being the right person for her is a great journey for the reader and Townsend does a great job with some fluid writing and very witty observations throughout. Highly recommended read.

My wife bought this and, no shame, I read it too. Very fun read with great insights and humor.
It was a great book that I did not want to end. It catches you from the first page and I was not able to put it down. The way this author is able to play with your emotions is incredible. You will love, laugh, and cry all the way to the end. I'm hoping she comes out with another book soon.
I was very excited when I came across this book because I like modern romances AND mythology. This mash-up of those two genres did not disappoint! I loved the main character's voice. She was funny and charming and engaging, similar to the way I felt about Bridget Jones Diary. The ending was satisfying (without giving away any spoilers). The only thing I might change is to make this part of a series because I want to know what happens next!The Goddess Guide to Dates, Fate & Soulmates

Full disclosure--The whole Greek gods and goddesses is not my cup of tea. Funny chick lit, is. Do not be put off by the premise. This is a funny book, and it's well written. Zoe is as funny and charming as a heroine gets. You'll love her. The dialogue is witty and (surprise!) authentic. She says things that will make you laugh out loud and also make you wish you'd thought of it. It's good. Buy it.
Amy Townsend has written an imaginative and exciting and wonderful "coming of age" tale. Her lead lady, Zoe, as an older teen ager is facing the conundrums of her age. Her approach is to face them head on. In a very funny and extremely way , Ms Townsend has her Zoe travel a well trod journey, but different for each voyager. Zoe starts her trip in a reverse anthropomorphic(sic) manner. Suffice to tease the reader with her first sexual encounter she converts her obnoxious male companion into a lizard. This story then combines mythology and current times in an incredible and affective way. One is astounded at the common relationship that exists with her peers of thousands of years ago and their current decendants. With this formidable approach to solving a young girls fears and hopes, I, as the reader was riveted to the book and its path to resolution. I think every millennial and teenager will appreciate this book with all their senses and perhaps wish for a motion picture for a resolve to their eyes and ears. Congratulations to Ms. Townsend and thanks for an absolutely great read.
I thought ‘The Goddess Guide to Dates, Fate & Soulmates’ was such a unique read. Zoe Canton is a very relatable character which made me feel invested in her story. The plot seems kind of eclectic when you first hear about it, but Amy Townsend really knows how to weave an exciting story that blends college, the paranormal and Greek mythology with ease. Zoe is faced with difficult decisions that the reader just has to see through to he end.

I’m really impressed by what the author had to offer with this story and will definitely be keeping an eye out for future work.
